The case against Copernicanism

It is a scandal that schools throughout the country are still teaching as fact the largely discredited 16th century theory of Copernicus, according to which the earth goes round the Sun.

The first and most obvious objection is that Copernicanism does nothing to explain the origins of the earth, the Sun, and the materials of which they are formed. Intelligent Driver Theory achieves all this and more, since only Intelligent Driver Theory acknowledges the self-evident fact that the Sun-Earth system has been created for our benefit by an intelligent Being.
Secondly, the theory conflicts directly with present day (17th century) science. It has recently been discovered that if object A exerts a certain influence on object B, then B must exert an exactly equal influence on A. So if it is the case that the earth goes round the Sun, it must also be the case that the Sun goes round the earth. But both cannot be true at the same time. Thus Copernicanism violates the Third Law of Motion, in much the same way that the now discredited theory of evolution violates the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
Thirdly, the dirty little secret of Copernicanism is that it does not account for the most obvious of phenomena, the difference between day and night. For we have day and night every 24 hours, while according to the theory of Copernicus the earth goes round the Sun only once a year.
Fourthly, the theory does not explain why the earth should be tilted at the ideal angle for the creatures that inhabit it. For example, if the tilt were smaller, polar bears would have no snow drifts to hide in when they hibernate, while if it were greater, the Sahara Desert Rat would not be able to survive the resulting harsh winter. The odds against this having happened by chance are truly astronomical.
Fifthly, the theory is based on an argument where the premises presuppose the conclusion. For on this theory, what stops the earth from flying off into space? The force of gravity pulling it towards the sun. But the only way that we can detect this force is by how it influences the Earth's motion ⁱ. The alleged existence of the imaginary circle is brought in as evidence for the existence of the force that explains this circle. A truly circular argument based on an already discredited theory ⁱⁱ.
Let us also note that this is only a theory, and as such cannot be taking a certain. Indeed, some philosophers might argue that it is not even a scientific theory. No one has ever stood outside the supposed circle of the earth's path for a year, and seen its alleged motion round the sun. So the theory is unproven. Moreover, it seems that there is no prospect of our ever being able to do this, so the theory cannot even be tested.
By contrast, Intelligent Driver Theory passes all possible tests. The Sun crosses the sky at exactly the right angle, and varies the angle in exactly the right way, because it is intelligently driven. Thus the theory is validated every single day. The theory also recognises that the existence of a Driver implies the existence of a Creator, whose existence immediately solves all the problems of life, the universe, and Everything.
The children of this country deserve the best possible education, including exposure to the most up-to-date science, whether or not that agrees with the theories so convenient to the Liberal Establishment. They must also learn to think critically on scientific issues, and this cannot be achieved by allowing them to see one side only of the controversy.
Finally, we must consider the effects of teaching Copernicanism on the moral development of our children. If we teach them that they are mere physical objects, subject to gravitational influences, how can we ever expect them to show respect for themselves as essentially spiritual beings, and practice sexual abstinence?
